Every year, Seddon Community Bank and Inner West Community Enterprises promote partnerships of local philanthropists and community groups. Footscray Historical Society has attended every Community Pitch held at the Yarraville Club since 2015 for projects such as:
- The digitizing of the Eddie Warden photographic negatives
- Restocking the book store
- Development of online resources
- Catering for the 2018 jubilee celebration
- Art in the Ercildoune garden
In-kind support
Katie Hall MP for Footscray helps with production of our quarterly newsletters.
In 2018, Basset and Lobaza of Seddon drew up Ercildoune’s ‘existing conditions’, a favour that smooths the path for lodging building plans in the future.
In 2019, Pamela Sutton-Legaud of Joynin assisted with Strategic Planning. Pro bono, she facilitated a special committee meeting.
Giving freely of your time, expertise and resources is a great way to boost the fortunes of Footscray Historical Society.
Creative Partnerships
Hop Nation backed the Society’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2018 by creating The Patron brand which was served at the jubilee gathering. The Footscray boutique brewery also ran a special fundraiser for the occasion offering a lucky ticket holder a hamper of its produce.
Licensed apiarist Roger Mitchell cares for bee hives he installed in the Founders’ Garden. Guest speakers and VIPs receive a jar of honey in appreciation for giving up their time to visit and support us.
Value adding to membership fees
An easy way for members to give even more is to donate while paying subscription fees.
This helps with the ongoing running costs e.g. stationery, water rates, electricity bills.
