Volunteers make all the difference
Volunteers run Footscray Historical Society. Our interests, skills, roles and level of involvement vary. Specific volunteer vacancies are listed as part of our What’s On blog.
Friends of Ercildoune is the umbrella group for all those assisting on a casual basis. Step up if you can help with gardening, maintenance, IT, cataloguing, marketing, heritage advice, curriculum, proof reading, guided tours, fundraising, design, hospitality. . . (the possibilities are endless).
Our research volunteers handle enquiries on all aspects of our history and fill orders for books, photographs and DVDs. Experienced volunteers mentor newcomers, familiarising them with the archive and the policies and procedures that are part and parcel of professional engagement with members and the wider community.
Research volunteers need to be:
- good communicators
- free to attend Ercildoune on Tuesdays between 11am to 2.0pm
It’s also good if they can be part of the Saturday roster 11am to 2pm
An elected committee of 9 manages Footscray Historical Society. Candidates need to be:
- paid up members
- free to attend monthly meetings
As Footscray Historical Society is a registered charity, committee members are bound to abide by governance standards set by ACNC and applicable legislation.
